Does Jonathan Calleri seem possible Ed's, players father has spoken of a 'verbal agreement' but with the 3rd party ownership surely that's one to avoid?

WelshBale

{Ed002's Note - {Ed002's Note - Palermo, Chelsea, Inter, Arsenal, Valencia, Spurs, Stoke, Roma and Villarreal are all known to have shown interest in Jonathan Calleri but it was Chelsea and Inter who have discussed a possible move with Boca before his rights were completely purchased by third party investors who struck a deal for his registration to pass from Boca to Uruguan second division side Deportivo Maldonado - and then immediately lent to Sao Paulo. Boca were looking to keep him until the summer and were looking for a premium for a winter sale - and that put Inter on a difficult footing and they started to look for an initial loan or assistance from a third party. Chelsea did not really want to take the player until the summer and they would be looking to send him straight out on loan if a January move was pushed and even that was complicated by the player, at the time, having three owners, Boca, Deportivo Maldonado and an investment company. My expectation was that he would therefore stay at Boca until the summer and then complete a move to Chelsea, assuming the new manager was keen. However, this has rather irked Inter who, strapped for cash, wanted to complete the transfer in January, subject to (a) them having managed to raise the funding necessary to make the deal happen (perhaps with third party assistance) as they remain short of funds, (b) providing the player with assurances over game time, and (c) the player accepting those assurances and agreeing the move which would almost certainly mean playing for a different side until June - probably Bologna or just perhaps Frosinone. Inter fell at the first hurdle as they could not raise the money. The player's third party ownership was so messy that Boca were not in the position to negotiate on their own. It is a little clearer now but generally way more ugly than it should be. Chelsea have since stepped back from the whole mess, Valencia have a change coming in the summer and I expect they will drop their interest. Inter remain interested, as do Lazio and Spurs and I suspect it is from this group that someone will try and untangle his ownership and make something happen in the summer.}

Translated text from Dnipro's official website reads that a deal has been struck between us and Konoplyanka which will be announced after the Europa League final. Is this viable, any truth in this. Also Hotspur Related on twitter seem to be linking us heavily with Lavezzi. Can anyone confirm either of these?

Friday has come ed002, could I potentially hassle you for updated transfer targets?

WelshBale

{Ed002's Note - Yedlin should get done soon. Depay is really unlikely. Schneiderlin is wanted by Spurs and Arsenal but Southampton don't want to sell. Thauvin won't happen - there was an enquiry but no bid.}

1.) How about mateo mussachio?

{Ed002's Note - Search engine.}

2.) 10 Aug 2014 07:12:41
Who are the most likely players to come in at Spurs Ed? Yedlin aside .

{Ed002's Note - I can tell you where I know of interest - I cannot sensibly answer "most likely" questions. Sorry.}

3.) Um well I was asking you so I didn't have to find out what lazy journos had to say ed. But I will initiate google as you have no answer to the question.

{Ed002's Note - I was suggesting the search engine on this site or you could read the posts as I have answered before. I have neither the time nor the inclination to keep repeating myself.}

4.) Ok sorry for the misunderstanding :)

5.) Most likely to come would be the ones where Spurs put in serious efforts to get the player . Not Moutinho kind . Thanks ed2

Sky have suspended betting on Griezmann joining athletico Madrid, another one bites the dust. Eds will he be joining athletico?

WelshBale

{Ed001's Note - he has an offer on the table from them, they have met the asking price, but it is not done yet. He could still turn them down, though it does seem unlikely right now, he does know about other interest. It just comes down to if he thinks this is the best he is going to get, and Atleti are the reigning champions there.}

1.) Absolutely gutted if this is true.
Was looking forward to him becoming a spurs player.

2.) 26 Jul 2014 13:17:44
Hopefully he will prefer the premiership over la liga. Konoplyanka could be an option.

3.) Griezmann to Athletico, Origi to Liverpool, lukaku looking certain for Everton, schniederlin most likely to Assernal. C'mon spurs what are you doing? You're killing me here! all this quality talent getting snapped up by our competition.
Eds can you tell me if there is any truth in the Micah Richards rumours?
Hoping you can also tell me the lukaku to Everton rumours are just that, rumours! Thanks

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what MR rumours you are referring too. Try the Chelsea page for information on Lukaku.}

Deadline day so far:
Ins:
Stambouli-Montpellier-4.2million (pending medical)
Sadio Mane-Salzburg-Apparent bid made
Welbeck-United-9/4 favourites
Outs:
Obika-Swindon-Undisclosed fee
Gomelt-Bari-Season Loan
Coulibaly-Bari-Undisclosed fee
Fryers-Palace-3 million (pending medical)
Townsend-QPR/Southampton- Bids Made
Soldado-Monaco-Interest
Sandro-QPR-Bid made
Holtby-Hamburg-Season loan (pending medical)
Lennon-Stoke-Interest

All regurgitated news, looks like more outs than ins. No big names unless Levy pulls one out of nowhere.

WelshBale

1.) Lol welsh. great minds and all that

2.) A, brilliant timing

3.) Seen rumblings of Swansea coming in for Naughton also . That would leave us pretty thin at RB with Walker seemingly struggling to get fit.

Reportedly being interested 10 minutes before signature must be a new record for a club. Brilliant work by Levy, kept us all in suspense. In my opinion, a much cheaper option to Schneiderlain and someone who's work rate is second to none. But that leaves the club with 7 central midfield players, Holtby, Capoue, Dembele, Sandro, Eriksen, Paulinho and Stambouli, one would assume that at least one of these will move on with Sandro being the unlucky one due to him being third choice defensive midfielder. The addition of a another player also brings our squad size to (I think, no research done here) 28, which surely means that 3 players will depart in order to comply with the squad cap. If other targets are pursued we could see many faces out the door in these last couple of days. I fear Sandro and Holtby may be two of them.

Hi Eds, with all the first team transfers occurring do you know if Spurs signed the young Romanian lad (the name escapes me but was on the poll a fee weeks back) and the Ivorian Ineista, Musa Yahaya. There was numerous sources saying both had signed but there doesn't seem to have been any conformation from Spurs themselves. Thanks in advance for any information.

WelshBale

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure the court order is in place still that stops me answering questions about the under 18s. I guess others can help WB.}

1.) Understandable ed002, wouldn't want the page to get into trouble

30 Jul 2014 22:40:33
Iago Falque on his way to Genoa, undisclosed fee agreed and a medical tomorrow. Would have liked to have seen this lad given a chance, although it was never going to happen with all of our midfielders present.

Schneiderlin has revealed his '6 years of an amazing journey have been destroyed in one hour'. Read into that how you will.

WelshBale

1.) Has he signed for spurs then
lol

2.) Bit of jealousy welshie, especially as he was one of Arses top targets!

3.) DAVO
i think khidir was his first choice but you never know with LORD Wenger, he will probley buy some 2nd divion french lad .

4.) That was actually funny boyo.

5.) He isn't our top target, read the press

6.) Welshgooner, I know you're bantering and you hate spurs, as you should as an arsenal fan, but you do make some good points, as well as some blatant intendidly ignorant ones. Give us an honest, un-biased opinion on how spurs will do this year and over the next 5. I'm quite optimistic. As an honest spurs fan, and a fan of football in general, I think arsenal could sneak the league this year, providing you buy a striker. I know I'll get vilified for this but I can only be honest.

7.) Banbury, you make me laugh! Read the press you say! If I believed everything it said in the press then Arse would have brought 60% of the players at the World Cup plus a couple of light footed ballerinas to replace Poldolski plus Spurs would have signed Messi, Kroos and Wenger! I can't believe even a gooner was stupid enough to come out with that statement!
Arsen even stated that he wanted Schneiderlin last season and at the World Cup . Face facts, not all the top players want to go to Arsenal although you would like to think so!

{Ed008's Note - He is an Arsenal target..

I admire the oracle but Saphir Taider's loan has been cancelled, selling Schneiderlin now would leave Saints in deep trouble meaning a deal is near enough impossible

I agree davo I hope Paulinho and Capoue depart leaving Schneiderlin with Sandro as cover and Dembele with Bentaleb as cover, we then have Eriksen with holtby as cover. That IMO is a good midfield three with internationals as back up who can play a big part in the cup and in Europe. That's not mentioning Carroll who will probably be sent out on loan or be a bit part player if he stays.

Can you confirm the 'strong rumours' are true eds?

WelshBale

{Ed001's Note - Spurs have been speaking to Southampton about both. Most of the bets are because people are assuming Southampton are willing to sell. To be honest I can't see any reason to disagree with that, but there seems to be a problem with the club's willingness to release funds this summer. They have already rejected the chance to increase their offer for Griezmann, who they knew was Poch's number one choice and was keen on the move to Spurs. I don't believe this to be a case of Levy penny-pinching either, I think we may well see some changes in the club after the window. A certain Italian Technical Director is very much on the verge of removal right now, I am told. Seems odd to back Baldini over AVB and now turn on him, but it seems he is wearing out his welcome with his unwillingness to allow someone else to pick the players to buy.}

Looks like a done deal apart from the alleged 35% economic rights that his previous club, River Plate own. Apart from that, I'd say he's pretty much close to joining hopefully.
