With spurs needing 2 extra strikers to compete on all fronts I think Jermaine Defoe would be a no brainer, scores goals for fun and knows the league inside out and for free as well.

{Ed002's Note - Won't happen, he is moving elsewhere. And he is far from "free".}

Hasnt he signed for Bournemouth, with a big signing on fee and wages in excess of 100 grand a week.

You can't compete with clubs like Bournemouth who can pay higher wages! lol.

Defoe is a legend and a fantastic player even now, however at £5.2m a year wages he isn't the best value for money is he?

He needs a regular team exposure to be effective, and I am sure Bournemouth will get great value. Our probpem is we need prolific goal scorers to support the mercurial Kane, and Defoe is probably not consistent enough these days.

Gunnerbod your humour is amazing. Congratulations on winning the FA Cup against all the odds, but try not to feel complacent with your position.

Throwing stones from a greenhouse isn't wise when Wenger, Sanchez, Ozil and others haven't committed to the club. Spurs don't have to pay £250,000 to bribe players to play for the club like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Man City and Liverpool do. Our players play for the club, the fans and the success which is coming at place near you very soon.

Polish the trophy and keep it clean, it will be coming to our new stadium next season along with the Premiership trophy. We might even get knocked out by Barcelona and come and take the Europa Cup from you after you graft the early stages.

Wodbod winning the FA cup makes you 1.5 million, spurs getting into the champions league 50 million.

Spurs not winning a trophy again. priceless.

Oracle spurs can't pay those sort of wages, and what success do the players play for? Lmao 😂.

Gunner when you say can't pay I think you mean don't need to pay. Spurs have Loris, Alderweireld, Dele, Eriksen and Kane who could all get 3 times their wages elsewhere if they didn't play for the club.

When we pack Wembley next season every game and then move into our brand new state of the art stadium we will have everything. Our match day revenues will move into parity with Arsenal and others who have buoy their stadiums. Commercialisation will move into parity with the Nike and NFL deals, and the achampions League positioning provides significant revenues from TV rights, merchandising and progression.

The truth is football is a money game, and the gap has been closed between our clubs. The future momentum is with Spurs, and the ability to attract top players at reasonable prices and wages is higher. Arsenal can recover if you somehow sign Mbappe and Bale or something similar.

I see Arsenal's fate settled over the summer. If you blow £150m on one layer in transfer fees and wages like the press are alluding then you could be in real trouble. Let's see if Sanchez stays because he made everything happen. If Mahrez is his £50m replacement you are going to go backwards fast.

Liverpool and Spurs both wasted similar huge war chests in the past when sitting in your position. Top players don't come and then panick buying tales over and you end up buying some ageing star of yesteryear for silly money.

Sorry but what a load of trash I see written about "bribing" players from this Oracle chap.

I've said I'm pretty much a neutral (due to being a league 1 fan) and appreciate decent football. I think Spurs have been up there in the decent football stakes over the past couple of years but warm most to Liverpool and Klopp who I think had the weakest SQUAD of the top 6 but the best TEAM last season.

I really think he will build now on squad having inherited much of the team from his predecessor and then released a lot of deadwood and salary in the process last year am definitely think Klopp will make Liverpool the key force with a continuation on attractive attacking football so teams need to look out there.

Spurs I think are a decently force too with a good manager but have won nothing for years and any piece of silverware would, I think, support the strong progress they have made and add confidence, which is really key. BUT there are a number of strong teams and neither of those two teams will have it easy, nor do the other key 4! But for anyone to suggest bribery is prominent in one not another I suspect a load of bull.

Burstthebubble, you are an utter fool. Liverpool have the best squad you say when they finished 10 points behind, scored 8 less goals and conceded 16 more than Spurs.

You talk about being a League 1 fan and I don't believe you for one minute. You are clearly working in collaboration with the two Gooners to try to sabotage the Spurs forum.

You statistics are wrong, your grammar is terrible and your ability to conceal your true identity is pathetic.

Spurs have spent the lowest amount over the last 5 season on NET player sales. Liverpool over the same period have spend £150m more than Spurs.
