I assure you he was being lined up by Spurs but higher wages has turned his head. I think he would have done a great job for us for the next one and a half seasons and would have filled the void once Defoe has left.

{Ed001's Note - yes, there have been talks with Villa over a striker, I am sure the rumours will be out regarding Benteke soon, but I am not sure if it is him. I can only make a semi-educated guess about which forward, as I wasn't told who it was, but I would say it has every chance of being Weimann. Just from something I was told about Sherwood liking Weimann.

They also enquired about a forward from Milan, I would assume it is Balotelli or El Shaarawy, but the price quoted was not considered reasonable.}

{Ed001's Note - I don't have anything on that, though I would say, personally, that should be Spurs priority. Every time I see Rose he looks awful defensively, and so slow getting back after going forward. I would certainly assume the club are chasing one, it is just I haven't got any info on it.}

I rate Weimann vey highly. I have not heard any rumors related to him being looked at by Spurs, but he would be a good signing for Spurs
