Steve I've given up weeks ago with spurs, I haven't renewed my season ticket and refused to buy any of the new crap nike stuff, I'm sick of pumping my money into the club to see our best players waving off every other year and us being linked with utter rubbish every summer. I feel like letting a lot of steam lately and I might start following millwall football club.

Raver the last sentence is worth poster of the year alone. Very good.

Raver, I feel your pain.
Best players moving to Spain, again and again.
Like I said, no big signings this summer but at least Dele And Mr Kane are staying. Real interest from Real for Dele but he ain't ready to give up here yet. Besides, he knows he ain't a starter for dem.

Got to ride the summer out.

Raver, you were always bragging you have the best young players in the league, and fantastic youth players coming through so why are you bothered about not signing anyone or are you now saying you were talking rubbish lol.

Raver a true fan would never write that type on nonsense. I actually enjoy your posts and normally agree wth most things you write, but please retract your emotional breakdown!

Many true fans remember the days when Spurs were a consistent mid table club, and there were a few years in between when we were mathematically in the relegation zone. In the early 90s we finished 15th twice in three years and were on the brink of disaster. This period followed the FA Cup win in 1990/ 91 which came after another 10 years of mid table mediocrity.

We are building the best stadium in the league, have the most promising squad without a doubt, and run a tight financial ship. The last 10 years have seen Spurs consolidate top 6 to now looking like a worthy top 4 contender. When you consider many of the others are running their clubs unprofitably this is a significant achievement by any measure.

The truth is Joe Lewis is not an Abramovich, Sheikh Mansour or even Glazer. He doesn't pump in £300m into new player acquisitions from his personal fortunes. It would be nice if financial fair play actually worked, because we would have been champions at least 3 times in the last decade if it did. The sad reality is we run a tight ship, and our ability to compete is hindered by others cheating.

Imagine if we had the same dynamic but offered players £300K per week from the billionaires petty cash injection. Suarez, Hazard, Aguero and William were all acquired by this method.

I completely agree it is bloody frustrating to see this continued underinvestment in our players when we are so close to winning something. I completely agree we have been loyal fans and should have some glory to share by now. However be patient because business people tend to have business minds, and I sense Lewis and ENIC are completing the final piece of the jigsaw before selling out.

When we finally sell which I believe will be at the end of this season, we will have a new stadium, amazing team of talented youth and some world class players like Lloris, Alderweireld, Dele and Kane. Then we will see the aggression to go and buy big and bring in some superstars to compliment this setup. A time when Spurs will start being serious about winning things. If you offered £190m for Sanchez and had unlimited funds to pay him £300K a week, what damage would this do to Arsenal? It is those special players that we need to attract and that is impossible until we have a different owner mindset!

What a joke of a statement! Raver!
Give the club some time! We need to ship out before we can add!
All our big players are staying!, yes we have lost walker but for 50Mil + good business for a guy who is hit and miss!

I don't agre with most things that the oracle writes but (sadly) he's right! I think with the lsck of investment, Wembley pitch and a thin squad (+ potential injuries) we will be lucky to finish 6th. Almost certainly no cup or CL football for the first year in our new stadium. The only positive is that we are likely (either by transfer dealings or club sale) to be debt free relatively quickly, then hopefully we can become a force.
I doubt (for most of us 50 somethings) we will see success in the next 10 years!
Sadly Nobby.

{Ed025's Note - at least your being positive nobby.. :)

Great post Oracle. Jamiek, exactly, we are now selling players to create space in the squad for new players.

Oracle, if financial fair play worked you think you would of won the league 3 times in the last decade? What a joke of a statement, arsenal would of won it 10 times then under that analogy!
