Sunday rag reporting Danny rose to man city with Luke Shaw coming to us, hope notthink Danny rose is the best lbin the league carnt see how selling him to one of our rivals will help our cause, thought s anyone,

I'd be shocked if we sold Rose. Every summer the papers claim the Manchester clubs are going to buy all of our best players. Those days are over. The players have no incentive to leave for those guys.

2.) 30 Mar 2017 13:05:52
I believe that £60m for Rose with Luke Shaw available at £25m would be great business. Shaw is a better defender and offers similar offensive qualities.

Let's be honest with ourselves, only Lloris, Vertonghen, Alderwiereld, Walker, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele and Kane are good enough to finally push for the title.

Dembele by nature of his physique cannot possible last all season without injury, so we probably need a top class CM as well.

LB - Shaw + £35m sounds like a good outcome if the Manchester clubs bought and sold at those prices.

CB - ED has rumoured Lejeune interest which sounds fantastic because Dier need to move back to CDM and alternate with Wanyama.

LM - Son is a good squad player but surely not good enough for a serious assault. Eriksen could play in a narrower role with Kane at number 10 in the hole behind a world class striker and Dele on RAM. i would however prefer we bought a world class LM and kept Dele in CAM and perhaps Eriksen on RAM.

CF - Janssen is clearly not good enough. If Man City want Rose so badly what about the lowly paid and forgotten Iheanacho. Never going to get a game with a Aguero and the emerging brilliance of Jesus.

The truth is we are not far away, but the payers needed now are those above what we have. Lukaku is probably overpriced and Mousa Dembele Celtic may make more sense albeit risky.

With Sunderland certain for relegation perhaps Defoe can offer us the cover next season on a 2 year contract. An amazing player who roved he still has the skills to be a fantastic squad addition.

3.) 30 Mar 2017 15:13:32
I think it'd be a huge mistake to let Rose go.

4.) 30 Mar 2017 20:16:37
On paper it looks a good deal for us financially, but on the pitch where it matters its a very bad deal for us, quality players playing well win games, not millions tucked away in the new stadium fund if that's to be believed, COYS.

5.) 31 Mar 2017 12:04:31
Luke Shaw has potential, however there is not a better left back currently playing in the premier league, and as much potential that Shaw has, why would we want to get rid of a currently better player and strengthen a top 4/ title rival just for the sake of a few million quid. A very silly move IMO. Why not sell Davies for £15m along with a bit of deadwood, like GK N'Koudou, Lamela, Wimmer and Onamah (maybe, he seems to have stopped progressing) potentially Janssen, (although I am still convinced he will come good) , Vorm, and Sissoko + loan players

Hopefully claw in around £60m cash plus a player or 2 swap deals and buy Luke Shaw + others.

For me Swap -
Sissoko for Barkley.
Lamela swap with Italian club for 1 of about 5 rumoured players.

Sell -
Davies - £15m
Wimmer - £8m
Vorm - £2m
Onamah - £3m
Janssen - £15m (If he goes)
GK N'Koudou - £5m
Fazio - £8m (having a very good season in Italy)
N'jie - £5m (Hopefully)

Total circa - £61m
Add a bit to this money to buy 3-5 class players in the GK, CF, Wing and CB and LB positions + the 2 swap deals, promote CCV and Edwards to 1st team hopefully would push us on, but this isn't Football manager and things don't work that easily. Either way it is going to be an interesting end to this Season and an even more interesting close season transfer window. 10 out potentially 9 in with upgrades on squad.

Ideally I would like-

Wimmer - out - Maguire - in
Davies - out - Shaw - in
Sissoko - out - Barkley - in
Lamela - out - El Shaarawy (or someone of this type) - in
Vorm - out - Lopez - in
N'jie/ N'Koudou - out - Zaha - in and Promote Edwards
Fazio - out - promote CCV
Onamah - out
Janssen - if he goes - Not sure who to bring ingas not many quality strikers will want to play 2nd fiddle to Kane

COYS.

I've just 're read Oracle, s post and I found myself agreeing with almost everything he wrote, I've got a doctor s appointment booked for Monday at 9.0clock👍.

7.) 31 Mar 2017 21:49:39
Wirral i think you should go to A&E instead of waiting until Monday!

Letting Rose go would be catastrophic.

Onomah is one of the best performers in training, he just needs to translate this to whenever he plays.

El Shaarawy for Lamela! No thanks.

N'koudou i would keep, great potential but i've heard he has been caught going to McDonald's late at night a few times now and has had words with Pochettino.

8.) 01 Apr 2017 10:38:32
I'd bring back Defoe. Enough games for him to still get a look in.

9.) 01 Apr 2017 10:51:36
Wirral Mark you will be fine my son. We are both amazing fans and soon our glory will come!

COYS.

Have to agree with Bobby box, very concerned with dele's lack of celebration when scoring, every Yid would give their right arm to score a goal for Tottenham at Wembley, don't know what all that was about, on a different note we do this every season slow start drawing against so called lesser teams is the norm for us dropping points at home.

don't think you can blame Wembley as its 11 v 11 and we have played there more than most, unfortunately relative success breeds impatience, we are all human and want to win with style every game unfortunately being human er won't, boring week ahead with England, but looking forward to Everton away, COYS.

Mark we do it every year in starting slowly and Harry Kane struggling to score in a brothel. And then by October we are unstoppable and Kane is scoring goals for fun, but the problem is we are always playing catch up with the other top clubs. I hate international weeks but for once I'm glad as I think its a perfect time for us as we are struggling at the moment. Clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool will hate this break as they are flying right now just like a famous spurs fan.

2.) 28 Aug 2017 22:26:42
Yeah I agree raver hate the international breaks but couldn't come at a better time for us, onwards and upwards, COYS.

3.) 29 Aug 2017 10:55:40
I think we are going to struggle if we do not sign a creative midfielder and also someone with pace up front.

4.) 29 Aug 2017 13:19:42
It's been proven year after year NES if you don't add quality you get left behind very quickly. We need players who can walk into the 1st Eleven. The BS spoken a few weeks ago. Oh Tottenham have the best 1st eleven in the PL. I don't know who they are trying to kid. Tripper and Davies wouldn't get into any of the so called big clubs teams if you ask me. It was eveident last year when teams part the bus we struggle. I've said it for over 2 years now. We need competition for Eriksen. Why the club can't see we need a creative / class number 10 is beyond me. We need an Isco type player. What on earth have our scouts been doing for the last year or so. Other teams will snap up our targets now the window nears a close.

5.) 29 Aug 2017 18:40:19
I agree DR, problem is that we have a safe structure and our ethos is to bring in and develope you potential stars to sell on.

Hats been our strategy for he past 10 years.

I still would like some competition for Erikson and some genuine pace wide or up front.

Anyone know what position walker is playingcos he certainly don't.

wirral mark

{Ed001's Note - Clive Allen was saying how difficult he was to coach, as he doesn't want to listen and doesn't like defending. He just wants to rely on his natural talent according to Allen.}

1.) 05 May 2017 21:56:23
The pain at the lane goes on and on, 56 years and counting yet spurs fans say the power has shifted, hahaha.

2.) 05 May 2017 22:33:15
The power has definitely shifted between us and you wodbod, 17 points clear, stuffed you again this season and you are not in the champions league anymore.

3.) 06 May 2017 09:56:34
Raver, I know your maths aren't that good but you are aware we can still make the champions league don't you and you could still mathematically drop out of the top 4.

4.) 06 May 2017 15:17:53

Go back in Jan and get Barkley for minimum fee half decent on his day but apparently not the brightest boy, been a naughty boy in Merseyside apparently which is one of the reasons why he wants out and a move down south, only what I've heard, not in the know by any means,

Ha ha I agree with that, although tbh think we are both very similar in size depending on how u measure it, crowds, home and away grounds, money trophies but we are bigger and better obviously, COYS.

The problem we've got nobby imois that we've got such a strong first eleven it's going to be very hard to find someone good enough to get into the team add the fact were not one of the highest payers in wages were going to struggle but 3 descent squad players plus lamela coming back and maybe marcus Edwards and one other getting promoedti first team squad we Will be more than fine COYS.

Regarding the obscene amount of money that is thrown around on crazy transfer fees for average players and the madness of their weekly wages it has to stop, but probably won't, Alan sugar saved us from going into oblivion years ago but then refused to pay anywhere near top wages and so we had a well run club that had average teams for years, what do we do smash the wage structure and go for broke literally because our expensive ticket prices will be even higher it's a catch 22 situation in my humble opinion, regarding Ross Barkley BBC saying he wants150 thousand a week to join us, lol that ain't going to happen in a million years iftrue not worth 60 grand a week, vastly overated COYS.

Ross Barkley very overrated imo hasn't really improved since he burst on the scene 5 years ago still running blindly into deadends miss placing simple passes and blasting wastefully over the bar when easier to score,50 mill uttermadness like most transfer fees which are slowly ruining this once beautiful game.
