Hi people. I've not posted for a while but have kept an eye on things on here. First of all amazing performance from spurs this year, we all knew they could keep pushing to be a recognised force in the league.
The reason I've kept away from posting comments is because I feel it's becoming a 'my dad is harder than your dad' debate on this site.
I'm going to say my opinion (that's all it is for those who disagree, my opinion) . We have for a few years now been showing the others in the league that we are a team to take notice of, fantastic football and a togetherness which is lost in football on the most part these days. Let's stop talking about the other teams and let our boys do the talking on the pitch.
Yes Arsenal have been an amazing team in the time I've grown up, no doubt about it but who cares? Let's enjoy our success (as little as it may be at the moment) because we know we look at our team as a whole and know the future looks promising.
Arsenal fans who join this page for banter, as always you're welcome but you're sounding slightly desperate as you see your team is going the other way and void of ideas to keep up. I say that with the upmost respect and don't think this will be the end as you will always be a quality team who players will want to join.
My point to this post being, can we stop the school yard back and forth? Arsenal fans, accept that no matter how hard it is to admit, spurs are the better team who are definitely going places and spurs fans can we stop acting like we have achieved something? If not I'll take your abuse and let you get back to your bickering!

Like you said people have a right to express their opinions. I was clearly stating or shall I say hoping for a win against West Ham and who knows as there will only be 1 point between us and Chelsea and who knows what can happen. now the comments from others which sounds to me like he's hoping for a dust up after the game is completely moronic and feel kinda embarrassed to be tarred with the the same brush.

2.) 03 May 2017 13:43:10
Spot on 1985, the bickering is getting to much sometimes especially with wodbod, what's next my todger is bigger than yours or my Subaru is faster than yours.

3.) 03 May 2017 15:02:24
I will always put Oddbod in his place, deluded doesn't even come close.

4.) 03 May 2017 19:07:41
Ellis you are the Anthony Joshua of banter, you are always finishing wodbod off so easy with your intellect.

5.) 03 May 2017 22:15:44
1985,
In simple terms, you are way better than us, individually and collectively.

6.) 03 May 2017 23:58:13
In everything Dagenham.

7.) 04 May 2017 08:15:23
This season, yes.

8.) 04 May 2017 23:40:34
Respectful comments guys, I was expecting a torrid of abuse for my comments. End of the day we all up for a bit or banter and that's expected but the results speak for themselves, we have been quality and as always fair play dags for your comments.
I respect Arsenal for their achievments but am happy to see their demise. That said, over the last 20years they have been a team to admire and wouldn't disrespect them due to my love for spurs.
Gilly, I'm hoping for the same as I'll be in the pub with my west ham mate watching the game so by means did I aim my comments at you.
My point was simply, let's hope our team can continue this success before we get over excited about what we've achieved compared to Arsenal as in recent years they have 100% been a better side than ourselves.
Dags, hi mate. Hope all is well, it's been a while.

9.) 05 May 2017 12:31:39
All good thanks 1985.
Hope you and yours are all fit and healthy.
Keep posting mate.

10.) 05 May 2017 14:02:43
suddenly its all very pally pally on here!

11.) 05 May 2017 14:11:16
Banter doesn't always mean you have to rip the rubbish out of each other.

12.) 05 May 2017 17:58:50
Ellis tell me one thing you have said that has put me in my place?

13.) 05 May 2017 18:01:20
Ellis so many things you have said on here I have corrected you.

Although disapointed with last nights result all I can say on reflection is 'well done West Brom' they put in a fantastic performance against us and Pulis could clearly see how nervous we were and set up to use that as an advantage.
Had we got the second goal (which we were seriously unfortunate not to get) I think we would've been ok and seen the game out but it wasn't to be.
Still a fantastic season we've had and we should all be proud of our team.
To all the Arsenal friends i'm really not bothered about finishing above you and have not cared about that all season, the thing that excites me is the progression of our side regardless of where we finish.
It's been a good season for english football, hoping for more of the same next year.

1.) 26 Apr 2016 14:35:20
Well said 85.

2.) 26 Apr 2016 16:46:34
Could agree more 1985. I feel the team has done every Spurs fan proud. Considering how young they are. They've shown great maturity, full credit to everyone that includes Mr. Levy.

3.) 26 Apr 2016 23:10:47
Totally agree 1985.

Banter apart, Spurs have been terrific this season. Massive progress made.

But, we can't be too complementary to you boys because of Raver and NES :-)

11 Jan 2016 17:16:19
Does anyone else believe there is a genuine fear Mopo could leave and go United if they come knocking?

Personally I'm torn between his personal ambition and what he has started with us.

Thoughts people?

Spurs1985

1.) 11 Jan 2016 17:23:24
Definitely 1985.
He seemed a perfect fit at Southampton but jumped at chance of going Spurs.

I think he will go OT and you will get LVG, at least that will shut Raver up :-)

2.) 11 Jan 2016 17:50:13
85 I got a feeling he will be gone in may . I know united are interested in him to replace gaal but the place he will end up is Chelsea as a few Chelsea boys have told me abramovic is already planning this to happen at the end if the season. Just think a endless pit of money to spend, he will treble his wages than he earns at spurs and he won't even have to move house.

3.) 11 Jan 2016 18:58:51
I think Utd would tempt MoPo, at least they appear to have the patience to undertake a rebuild. I'm not sure Abramovic is someone that will tolerate the time required to get Chelski playing in MoPo' style.

The big risk for MoPo at both clubs is the expectation of fans and seemingly of owners that the clubs have "world class" players and the personalities that come with that - something MoPo has yet to encounter and keep in his team.

4.) 11 Jan 2016 20:17:48
If we don't get top three then he should be sacked. We need a much braver manager, one who wouldn't take a 0.0 before every game if it was offered to him. Top three or sacked then go get Eddie Howe.

{Ed025's Note - what a croc that is!...he is the best manager you have had for many many years mate and you are lucky to have him..

5.) 11 Jan 2016 20:35:38
Lucas, can't work out if you are being serious or tongue in cheek?

6.) 11 Jan 2016 20:58:17
He will be if he gets top three Ed025 but if we miss out on CL in this PL then it has to be considered a big fail. If Martinez was sacked today and you the choice of Mopo or Howe, who would you take?

{Ed025's Note - mopo in a heartbeat lucas, if we could get rid of martinez and we could get mopo...i would throw in lukaku as a good will gesture mate..

7.) 11 Jan 2016 21:31:39
Ha Ha Ed025 quality answer. Serious Dags, if objectives are not met, why should he keep his job.

8.) 11 Jan 2016 21:43:43
Lucas,
Managers need time mate.
Levy has hired and fired the likes of Rednapp and AVB and you have since gone backwards.

Mopo has steadied the ship and Spurs are heading in the right direction.

This is probably the best Spurs side I have seen in 20 years. Mopo has to take a lot of credit for that.

9.) 11 Jan 2016 21:57:46
He's a good ship steadier Dags but can he take it on and clinch 3rd place? Can he handle an ego? we've got to sign an established player at some point. He strike's me as the kind of manager that would say no to re signing Bale if the chance arised.

10.) 12 Jan 2016 00:42:05
Lucas are you oddbod's brother my another mother by chance?

11.) 12 Jan 2016 17:44:37
Hi guys, some interesting views. I'm concerned he will be tempted to jump ship based on his actions at Southampton but was he aware before moving that he would be losing half the squad he built and that's why he wanted the move? Hopefully with the players saying they want to stay Mopo will see he can achieve great things with us and not want to move. Not going to be surprised if he does go though.
Lucas, your comments are laughable. Who would you take to replace him then? We all were dissapointed when we didn't get van gaal and look how that has turnt out for United, seems we got the better deal getting Mopo imo.

Another great prediction by Merson! It is unbelievable that Sky keeps letting him do the weekly predictions with such a blatant biased opinion. I read that out of the last 45 games he has predicted 36 losses for spurs. Oh and he's also predicted Arsenal would win around 40 of those games.
Anyway, great result for spurs. Looked up for the fight and didn't go in expecting an easy game. Just to point out to the people who were claiming doom and gloom after 3 games that we have not lost since the opening game against United away, by an unfortunate own goal I might add. This is the premature reactions I tried pointing out at the time.

Spurs1985

1.) 20 Sep 2015 18:59:17
That's why he failed as gambler 1985 Paul merson couldn't tip a waitress

2.) 20 Sep 2015 19:57:43
We got Son cheaply imo, I'm sure in the January window they were turning down bids near 30m for him.

He is very dynamic and has totally lifted the team. With Eriksen being back we will hopefully create more chances and Kane should score, hopefully against Arsenal and then City.

3.) 21 Sep 2015 08:06:37
Well said S1985. Unbeaten since the first game. Three clean sheets in a row (3 conceeded in 6 games). Other than the own goal we have also scored first. These are positive signs that our defence is improving from last year. Walker and Davies are playing the best I have seen them and no doubt Trippier and Rose are pushing them hard for that first team place. Toby and Jan are starting to gel, with the latter seeming more interested.

Still early and there us a lot of work to do further forward. We seem to lack ideas at times and need to be a little faster and direct to take advantage of space. Kane is working hard but not getting the supply he needs. If we can keep our defence at this level and get the rest firing it could be a very good year for us.

Lots to improve on, but the signs are there.

Son signs for spurs. Great signing can't wait to see him in the premier league.

S.T.I.D although you make good points your comments are still laughable. Just because you CHOOSE to spends thousands doesn't mean the club have to make it so you agree with the business done. It still amuses me how fans bang on about how much they spend as if it has anything to do with it.

Oh now I get it, Lucas is a Arsenal fan stirring things up. Finally makes sense.

I think you'll find the reason we are NOT 15 years behind Arsenal is because of ENIC. World class training centre, new stadium (bigger than Arsenals) on the way, youth prospects to be proud of and to top it off we are dissapointed every year when we finish 5th! Remind me of how great things were before ENIC took over, I was younger then maybe I'm missing something?

I meant Chelsea only gaining 1 point in their two opening fixtures is as detrimental to their season as us getting 1 point (still with me?) if not more damaging as they are going for first place! I wasn't comparing quality or ability just the points lost vs effect on expectations of each team.

That Barcelona team you mention rings a bell tbh, ah yeah that's right I saw them in Spain playing a game of football at camp nou. Not a bad team I have to admit.

So realist what is your expectations for this season? You make good points but I can only assume you are expecting a top 4 finish this Year otherwise you'd see our team is just a striker away from being good enough.

I don't disagree that further signings would improve our chances of finishing higher (not guarantee them though) but my point about being good enough is still correct for finishing top 6, would you not agree?

My point about being a supporter isn't a lesson I'm not here to teach you anything, just make points that may help you see it in a different light. If you went to watch a friend or a child play you would support them regardless of how well they play. A fan will just expect more and more and that is the difference. In simple terms, a supporter enjoys following a club whereas a fan will not.

Lastly you will not hear me saying if we had done this and that we would have finished here, I don't do that bud I just enjoy the ride. Life is a roller-coaster after all and I have a lot more important things to spend my time stressing over.
Been a pleasure talking to you and feel free to go into more detail about things if I'm maybe missing a vital point you have made.

So true dags, by that mentality Kane is going to have a shocking season. Seemed lost last night, offside alot. Pre season is for one thing, fitness. I think it's a joke how many tropheys are up for grabs pre season, as if they mean anything!

Agree with you Dr, we do need winners to get us tropheys. We have a great side and the right player could lead the team we already have onto the next level.

But DR my point is we would've won the league last year had chelsea not been nothing short of amazing. No home losses, best points total in our history of the epl and based on 96% of the epl seasons would've been enough points to end up top. All without "world class players".

Yes Ravers point of "spending that extra money to get the top players" on paper sounds reasonable but in reality it hasn't proven to work for us. Be it because we signed the wrong players or not our "big money signings" have all been flops. Examples: Soldado, Lamela and Sissoko. So based on fact, spending big doesn't equal success, in our clubs case atleast! Of course I understand the premise but the evidence doesn't back the theory, tell me if I'm wrong?

The wages has nothing to do with Levy's penny pinching. Our stadium size dictates, like other teams our wage budget. Which thanks to levy and co will soon change. If we go and bring in a player and break our wage structure for that player then we either a) raise the wage of our whole team or b) cause unrest with the players who clearly deserve better wages but are happy to play for the badge. Neither is a good end result for our club.

My comments about levy are not based on some love for him just some realistic view on where our team was and where it is now since "he" took over. Yes we have struggled in various ways in his tenor but when you consider how far we have come, wouldn't you agree (based on net spend alone) we are the most impressive team in the league right now?

Levy cannot be the reason for everything bad within the club and never the reason for all the good, if you get my point?

Raver, I'm not certain you're understanding what realistic really means as I think 2 of 3 are hopeful more than realistic with our current wage structure!

Holding spurs back for years? How can you be so short sighted Raver? We're moving in the right direction, we finished 2nd last year! The only thing that stopped us winning the league was the pure quality of Chelsea! Don't wanna hear "we should've signed a top player" either because that wouldn't have guaranteed anything. For me Sissoko looked amazing for france and seemed a good signing. He didn't live upto expectations and didn't play which was Mopo's choice. Fact is Levy backed Mopo with the signing and he failed to break into the team.

Levy (if it is to be believed every decision lays with him, which I very much doubt) has given us a top training centre, is building us a new stadium, has improved the overall quality of the Tottenham area and has done it by showing the big spenders in the league that it's not about money it's about quality and desire.

Ok let's buy 10 new players this season at 30million a piece because all the players we've spent 30mill on have ALWAYS pushed us onto the next level haven't they? Oh no. Wait they have all flopped!
