Just seen our starting 11 and I'm really concerned. Our back 4 are extremely average and the midfield 3 look toothless and one dimensional! I may be wrong but fear another Everton performance coming on.

Personally I'm hoping Hojberg does go to Everton. I can't see what he offers us? He isn't a midfield destroyer type, nor a playmaker so what is all the fuss about? He hasn't played for Southampton for a while and their results have improved and all his stats suggest he really doesn't contribute a great deal, no more than Winks for example? Any thoughts?

I’d rather see us fix the defense. full backs/ wing backs of the required quality are in short supply in our squad. Center back positions are thin on consistent quality also with Jan expected to leave and with Toby aging.

When United brought Bruno Fernandes in Jan they were in a worse position than us! Penny pinching Levy had the chance to sign him but wouldn't pay that little bit extra to get the deal through. Now look at the difference in the 2 clubs. They can go 3rd today and we can drop into the bottom half! Our football is dull, turgid, boring, devoid of any spark, United have transformed from all over the place to a team that is great to watch.
I'm not saying we would be world beaters if we had got the deal over the line but it shows for the umpteenth time how Levy and his penny pinching is killing any chance of us actually achieving anything! He has served us well but now is stifling us and sending us in a direction which will leave us losing the few good players we have and another 10+ years of achieving nothing! With a little more investment Poch would still be in charge and we would be comfortably in the top 3 for some time to come. I've backed Levy for years but he has blown it completely in the last 18 months. Sell up before it's too late!

I don’t imagine things getting any better any time soon.
The cash flow crunch must be considerable with the new stadium financing, lack of attendance at games, no CL next season - potentially no Europa Cup income and a reduction in Premier League “prize†money.
I’d imagine the number crunchers are working overtime trying to keep the club solvent. A perfect storm unfortunately.

If we were to sell Adebeyor, Soldado, Lennon, and Chiriches, we would have squad space and with all the other sales nearly enough to buy Berahino, Bolasie, Sissoko and Austin, just saying! That would make me actually optimistic too!

Well here we go, this one will be much tougher than the Arsenal game as Burnley will sit everyone behind the ball and just look for set pieces and scraps. We normally fare poorly in this sort of game 1-0 to Burnley would be a good shout, anyone more positive?

Ok so after a few things going our way recently the last 7 days has put us right back to having effectively 6 cup finals. We were so bad against Brighton I'm hoping we have to be better this week, but with our wing backs I think its just blind hope!
For all the praise Kane has had recently he hasn't scored for 5 weeks so maybe today he will bag a couple, but he won't do that unless we find some way to supply him and I can't see any width or creativity, maybe a couple of dodgy penalties, I will take anything at the moment!

Yes I get all that Guvnor, but why do we always continue to turn the screw for so long? I am glad we have a solid base and are a properly run club, for which Levy is to be congratulated, but haggling over a couple of mil until the 11th hour when you are talking about a 50 mil plus player makes me think he isn't that interested in the player and will end up with the usual club statement come the 9th, we tried our best but it wasnt possible etc.
On the other hand if we do get it over the line it will have been so dragged out that he probably won't be ready for selection until september. I just would have loved a year where we buy whoever our genuine realistic targets are early in the window so they can prepare and be ready for gameweek one, not gameweek 4. Perhaps I live in a fantasy world!

I am sick to death of us leaving transfers until the 11th hour and then missing out. It stinks of Levy penny pinching again, even if we get Lo Celso he won't be ready for the 1st few games as he will need time to settle in.
Currently from our tiny squad from last year we have got rid of many more than we have added and the contract situation of the ones we have are nearly terminal in some cases, why leave it to drag so long. If they are showing no signs of extending contracts just move them on for the best price you can actually get and stop pissing about for the sake of a few mil and get the players you actually know are available and you want, is it really that complicated?
Im guessing Levy is now planning on signing Sessegnon in jan on a tribunal to save another few mil, risky business!

I can't see us buying a replacement any time soon. It will mean more minutes for Skipp this season so we may see a bit more of him and what he is made of, he seems to have great potential.
The one thing we desperately need is a CM that can go past a player which then opens up space for the front 3. This is what Dembele has been brilliant at. When he goes past one or two and then gives it we create so much more. We need to have that as in my eyes Dier Wanyama, Winks and Skipp are really all competing for the same posistion and currently Sissoko is the only one for the other CM spot if Dembele goes.
I really like Sissoko in terms of speed stamina work rate and dribbling but technically he isn't good enough and has little to no end product. He does a lung busting 40 yard run, goes past 3 and then misses a 5 yard square pass!
I would also like to add that Dembele has been my favourite player to watch live for the last 3 years and he has completely bossed many of the games I've been to. The guy has such strength and technique, made it look so easy at times, and I will miss him!

He needs to be backed, and do it now, not in 2 months time. Let him go and buy half a dozen players that really improve our matchday squad, not ones for 3 years time! Start with Sam Johnstone on a free, that's an absolute no brainer and give him 150-200m for the other 5!
