Strong rumours coming out for jr and sniderin from saints for 30 mil

Mrg

1.) Very happy if we do get these two. Another cb and I will be very happy. Get our money back on Paulinho and I'll be ecstatic!

2.) I'm actual starting to feel sorry for Southampton fans watching their team being dismantled so savagely in a single transfer window.

3.) It was enjoyable while it lasted. I think it's a Shame though for any England fan to see saints torn apart. English players playing attractive football pretty rare now days. Let's just hope they all get some game time to further their development. Especially chambers as I feel he has huge potential but he needs to be playing games

4.) Can you confirm the 'strong rumours' are true eds?

{Ed001's Note - Spurs have been speaking to Southampton about both. Most of the bets are because people are assuming Southampton are willing to sell. To be honest I can't see any reason to disagree with that, but there seems to be a problem with the club's willingness to release funds this summer. They have already rejected the chance to increase their offer for Griezmann, who they knew was Poch's number one choice and was keen on the move to Spurs. I don't believe this to be a case of Levy penny-pinching either, I think we may well see some changes in the club after the window. A certain Italian Technical Director is very much on the verge of removal right now, I am told. Seems odd to back Baldini over AVB and now turn on him, but it seems he is wearing out his welcome with his unwillingness to allow someone else to pick the players to buy.}

5.) 29 Jul 2014 04:46:36
Hey Ed 001, Spurs are said to be close to signing Jay Rodriguez . Does that spell te end of spurs wide forward chase? Was he the most wanted target or did poch have to make do?

{Ed001's Note - he wanted Griezmann, but the club wouldn't pay the money, so it is second choice time now.}

6.) Thanks ed . I hope levy sorts out the mess soon and signs someone better than Rodriguez . I know he is home grown but I was gutted that we didn't sign Griezman . Makes me wonder which of our signings are the managers choice . COYS

{Ed001's Note - well we know for sure that Lamela was 100% signed against AVB's wishes. If Baldini is not removed, then he will just continue to do what he thinks is right and that is not going to be always the same as the head coach.}

7.) Fecking typical.
A manager of out club wants a player and we put in a lame attempt to sign him to say we tried

8.) 29 Jul 2014 07:36:53
Could we still get Griezman . Sudden change of heart and a bit of drama? He hasn't put pento paper as yet right?

{Ed001's Note - Spurs turned down the chance to match the offer. They walked away. I am shocked to be honest as I was told that the club had made promises to Poch on hiring him, that he would be picking the signings. I thought Levy himself would ensure that they were followed through, as he is not 100% secure in his job either.}

9.) The Griezmann farce is classic Levy. Ask the manager who he wants and then fail to cough up the money for him. What's the point in not paying a little extra to get your man - we all know we'll only end up paying a lot more for the wrong players in a panic buying session at the end of the window. The blokes a muppet. Looks like he's resorted to Blaming Baldini - got to keep the fans onside after all.

{Ed002's Note - I would not have expected him to leave Spain if there was an acceptable offer from there.}

10.) Well that's sadistic and disappointing! But thanks a lot Ed 001 for clarifying!

11.) This is typical levy. Is it possible we appoint a new chairman (hurrah) if so when ed 001. We are not like Everton, we have money. Plus there's deadwood to ship out. I mean Swansea interested in naughton?! What are we waiting for. #levyout

{Ed001's Note - actually Ed002 is telling me that Griezmann might have changed his mind after being initially keen on a move to Spurs. Apparently he preferred to stay in Spain, and he had no offers from there when he said he was keen on Spurs. So it could have been Spurs dropped out after finding out he would rather go to Atletico, to be fair to Levy. So I would suggest he deserves the benefit of the doubt now knowing that. It would certainly make sense, as up until Griezmann indicated he would move to Spurs, he had said he wanted to stay in Spain.

As for Levy, he has been told to get it right before the new stadium, as they want Champions League football with it. From what I am being told, Poch could be his last chance, if it all goes wrong, then he will be in trouble. That is why Poch is getting more say in transfers etc than previous managers, Levy wants the short term success to ensure his future.}

12.) 29 Jul 2014 11:39:54
Griezmann or Rodriguez? One will be world class one is average. Soneone please tell me what the fuss over Rodriguez is because when I've seen him he looks ordinary. Why not Konoplayanka either?

13.) Thanks ed, your detailed answers combined with ed 002's deep inside knowledge is a winning stroke so I appreciate that. I suppose after shneiderlin and j-rod you can't see us getting more players can you?

{Ed001's Note - yes, Poch wants more defenders, Dawson has not impressed him at all. I expect a centre back to arrive, or maybe two. He did earmark Lovren, but Lovren was clear from the start that he wanted to go to Liverpool and wasn't interested in hearing any other offer even. I am sure I listed a couple that I know of the other day, as I can't remember any names right now. I don't tend to keep info I receive by text or emails any more, just in case! I really need to set up some kind of database to use, so I can keep the info to hand, as my memory sucks. Though I do make sure to post it on the relevant site before deleting anything, so there is at least some kind of public record for people to see.}

14.) Wow, there's a lot of good info in this thread EDs thank you . Makes a few things a little more understandable.

15.) So Levy's heads on the block? How many chances has this disaster zone had. I wonder if he really is under any pressure - it's not like Lewis has invested any meaningful money into the team. I'd say under Levy's tenure it's a case of 'job done'.

16.) I must thanks both the eds for their help and for clarifying that levy can also get sacked! No strikers in the plan though eds?

{Ed001's Note - Rodriguez can cover as a striker.}

17.) 29 Jul 2014 16:40:01
Reus refuses to sign a contract! I know he wants to come to Spurs! I wish

19 Jul 2014 13:40:09
Just came to the stadium today for the mini tour and buy mine and my sons kit ( as must as I'm angry on here deep down still over em) bit like the wife lol
Had a chat to a few of the boys here they reckon Davis is more or less a done deal and that will be our biggest signing of the summer. Not sure how true that is as po is impressed with the squad.
Remy off to Liverpool another one gone

I'm just wondering if levy is trying to be too cute. To announce that ts will be changed in the summer. We all know who is favourite to get the job. My question is is he advertising the job early to certain managers who have present employment just to see who sends there cv in?

Mrg

{Ed002's Note - No - they have been negotiating with LvG while there is interest from at least one at Spurs in Pochettino.}

1.) Louis Van Gaal deal has been done, not sure why we are taking about other managers. The real excitement will then begin with the biggest revolution seen at Spurs for 25 years.

2.) Oh oh there is all the proof we needed that we won't get LVG now.

3.) Oracle, are you as confident as you were when we signed Damiao?

30 Jan 2014 16:10:21
Ed is there no whispers down at the lane regarding anyone coming in??
Anyone heard anything??

Mrg

1.) I just read a rumour about interest in nani.
And holtby loan to Fulham poss with Berba coming back on the cheap

2.) Yea heard that

3.) Oh my God. All our problems are solved and we are going to win the league. TS has recalled Livermore from his loan at Hull.

Well that will solve all our problems. WTF is going on with our club?

DL has some serious questions to answer for if that's the response from yesterday's humiliation and piss poor performance.

4.) TS is a stop gap.
Van gaal (probably) will be our manager in the summer and will be given a war chest. Loans in/out will be our only business. I'm sure of it.

5.) If Livermore is back as a squad player so Holtby can go out on loan and get 10-15 starts in at Fulham then it's not such a bad move. We get to see if Holtby can produce in the PL with a run of games that he is not going to see with us at the moment.

6.) Where the hell did you hear about Livermore? One positive thing that AVB did was letting him go, next BAE will be coming back! If DL wants to make us the laughing stock of the PL, then he certainly is going the right way about it! I know Sherwood worked with these players as youngsters, but can you imagine our central midfield, Bentaleb and Livermore! We will have Bostock playing up front soon!

7.) 31 Jan 2014 11:46:21
With Jack Sparrow having a medical at Juve today what are the chances of Vucinic coming our way?

8.) Holtby - has just joined Fulham on loan.

24 Jan 2014 10:29:29
Ed there is rumours and photos that the hulk has touched down in Luton airport. Could it be for us??

Mrg

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps he is just refuelling.}

So far we still have not spent a dime.
2 put 2 in more balanced out the money.
The 2 that have gone is no great loss, the 2 in are arguably squad players. We still jet to sign a player that will give us that leap from last season. The top 4 have got stronger in more ways then one and utd won't have a worse season then they did last year so we all want top 4 but can see it so what do the board want?
Even the 2 from Southampton do come can't see much difference there either. IMO we need a centre back, left sided midfielder and a striker (fit and ready to hit the floor running)
The 3 I'd love to see brought in
Hanandez ( utd)
Milner (city)
These 2 run there socks of and would suit the high line game and both are established pl players with goal and more to the point I can see both excepting the move and won't give levy a nose bleed.
The centre back I'd say anyone with pace would be welcome because the high line game with Dawson would be criminal
Views plz.

Mrg

1.) Hernandez would be no upgrade from soldado, just an out and out poacher, will score goals but only if their put on a plate

2.) Stick to The day job Mrg.

3.) 02 Aug 2014 07:27:28
i'd like to see us ship out a whole load of the dead wood and buy a few players who could the best out of soldado. it was ridiculous to recruit him last summer and expect him to play a style of football completely alien to him. all we had was townsend/lennon cutting in from the flanks and lobbing hopeful crosses into the box

4.) Kristeva? I agree, lennons crosses were just lobs but Townsends were shots lol.

Totally agree that he was wrongly played but this season whatch him go. Top Spurs goal scorer!

Griezman. . After ed has given us a great detailed explanation regarding this player (thanks ed) this has left my blood boiling. .
WHY are we always going this. .
We sign a manager with great promise to hire their choice of player and let him down badly and then pay top money for the 2nd or 4th choice, that doesn't work.
A manager has a vision with ideas so needs the right player to master that. . So back him for god sake.
We are after sniderlan how many holding midfield players do we want at the club also jr a striker who is injured and can't undergo a medial. . Our transfer dealings are a total joke and so is baldini and levy the sooner they go the better.
Question ed:
Are we struggling to sell the likes of naughton, Dawson etc because we need to replace them with British players as we need a certain amount to start the season

I'm probably the biggest moaner on here.
But after watching us against jd team, I must say I'm getting excited even if we dnt sign anyone.
Po is trying to introduce the high line pressure game to the team and once every player knows what he wants and does it I think we are going to be feared and have a proper team ethic with direction for once.
I've seen more positives from that game then I saw all of last season

Mrg

I am watch.
Wait. Hold it.
Are you sitting down.

The Lamella show.
This boy looks a totally different player

Mrg

1.) Let's see how he performs in a more physical competitive arena first before we start celebrating the second coming of our savior.

Still appears to be easily knocked off the ball to me.

It must be so easy to run a football club. For one reason only.
In business which football is now if you loose your best management, staff and devalue your product ( slip down the league) your clientele will go elsewhere.
Remember Woolworth, bhs, etc etc.

With football (spurs) there clientele are more then that we are supporters, loyal addiction, you don't change teams.

That is why he board dnt care there is over a 10 waiting list for season tickets the shop tills from Friday will go mad for the new kit.
We are the ones doing that not DL. Any other business he would be finished

Same old davo.
How many times have we missed out on players due to delays and levy dragging his heals for the sake of a mil or 2.
Every chairman in the world knows him by now that tactic dnt work no more as there is a lot of money now in football.
Hold on is not baldini the guy that buys players now?
Or is he the smoke screen for levy

J you have just taken the words out of my mouth I came on here to write a similar thing.
Everton are known not to spend big money, however bill k has backed his manager and are ready to stump up 24 million pounds for lukaku.
My guess is we have made an offer of 2 million with holtby going the other way. A levy offer
