Jermaine Defoe is 100% leaving to join MLS Toronto in March. I cannot provide further information, but rest assured the deal has been agreed and completed.

I can therefore conclude that he is either going on holiday, or remaining fit with Spurs during January & February. Perhaps trying to do a Thierry Henry to keep sharp and fit.

Eminence

1.) I take it that we are in for a striker in January then!(no more Damio rumours please)
After watching us against Fulham and seeing that Berbatov was probably the best player on the pitch. Is there any chance we could get him, as he wants to leave and would be a cheap premier proven striker or No 10 who could actually provide Saldado with some quality passes. Eds - Any thoughts?

{Ed002's Note - Sounds like MOTD Fever.}

2.) Sounds more like oracle Ed.

3.) Ed002- thanks for that constructive advice. Watched the game on sat not motd. Also definitely not the oracle. This was posted as a question, not a rumour, but would like to hear your thoughts on which players can pick a through ball in our current squad and where the goals are going to come from within the box?

{Ed002's Note - I am really no someone who cares to assess players Matt. However, Spurs do continue to look for a striker for January.}

4.) Just to keep you guys up to date, Damião is being negotiated between Internacional and Santos for just 3 million euros plus Arouca(a good centre mid but not really expensive).

The Brazilian Yid

5.) Damiao has scored 4 goals in 25 appearances this season, and looks like a complete donkey. I never rated him albeit was convinced he would be joining us, even at. £2.5m he is a wasted addition to our squad. Totally overrated and never going to be the player we need.

AVB has chosen his tactics as 4-2-3-1, and even a novice can see that means we need a big stronger CF. Someone capable of holding the ball up, and able to creates chances isolated upfront. Lukaku or dare I say it Hulk would be ideal in this structure.

6.) Hulk ain't ain't an out and out striker plus he is average. Is it just me or is the post above an attempt by The Oracle to make us think its not him by slating Damiao? Sorry if i'm wrong Eminence.

AVB is committed to playing 4-2-3-1, and I certainly believe there is enough evidence that it works across the top flight competitions. The issue is the apparent failure to understand that you need a true holding midfielder in the two, and width from true attacking wingers in the 3. Failing to play either one of Sandro or Capoue is simply stupid, and playing our wingers in inverted roles is a mystery to me. Couple these two issues with a £26m striker who doesn't want to find space, and you have the problem identified.

Contrary to what people say, we certainly don't need Coentrao. Rose is a fantastic player, and Chiriches is also as good at LB as CB. Why AVB doesn't play Chirchices LB, Vertonghen & Kaboul CB and Walker RB is a mystery to me.

In the two it is obvious Sandro holding, and Paulinho in a more offensive role. Then play Townsend LM, Dembele CAM and Lennon RM. Please remember Dembele was an attacking midfield come striker before he joined us. Encouraging him to attack their back line and shoot on sight would transform his game. He seems to effortlessly glide past players into the opponents box, and then freeze or pass his responsibilities. Playing behind the striker will show the world what a superstar he is. With Lennon and Townsend on their correct feet, encouraged to take on full backs and cross the ball, I am certain we would terrorise defences again.

My only concern is Soldado, but with Adebayor seemingly gone, we have to support him.

January signings will not happen, as we have the tools to do the job. Adebayor will leave for Besiktas and by this time we will already be in the driving seat for Champions League football.

1.) The oracle returns.
Just in time for the January window.

2.) If it is him then I welcome him back. His posts are a good read.

ED I posted that Lennon was being sold and Willian would be joining Spurs a few days ago, now that Willian has suddenly joined, I wondered if you would be kind enough to post this on the main page.

AVB is fed up with the work rate, fitness, crossing ability and goal scoring ratio of Lennon. Walker is being left exposed having to make up for the attacking flair on the right, and Willian is seen as the option to replace him. Townsend is considered a much stronger option, and the inclusion of Lennon was merely to keep the transfer to Inter set at the most profitable terms.

Eminence

1.) AVB must also be fed up with the fact that Lennon did almost all of Walker's defending for him last season. Also must be fed up that he is one of our longest serving players and must be so fed up with him that he was captain against Lazio. Also I think he started as he was the best option and justified that by winning the penalty.

Aaron Lennon will be joining Inter Milan as AVB brings in Willian.

He has been sulking since a move from Inter was quashed last season, and has been trying to orchestrate the move in this window.

A good player with electrifying speed, and yet fails to take on players anymore, wastes countless crosses, fails to make space anymore, has become a sideways backwards effect, and looks to lack passion and desire.

I am happy if Inter Milan want to pay £20m for a player drastically over rated.

Eminence

1.) Where are you getting these rumours from, I have heard no mention of this anywhere!

or are you just making them up because you want them to be true?

Lennon was one of our best players last season!

2.) 20m for Lennon . take it, doubt its true just that valuation of Lennon makes we question this rumor.

3.) I don't think Lennon will be sold as we only have 8 Home grown players left once Bale is sold.

The Rabbit

4.) Starting to believe me now Willian has passed his medical?

5.) Rabbit please try to at least be accurate with your response. The English player within the squad are;

1. Walker
2. Naughton
3. Dawson
4. Bale
5. Rose
6. Fryers
7. Lennon
8. Defoe
9. Townsend
10. Carroll

I think we all agree Bale is gone, so we would still have the 8 required if Lennon left, and players like Coulthirst, Kane, Livermore all available to be promoted to the squad proper.

Even ED must have laughed at my post as he put it in banter, but the last laugh will be with me as Willian signs and Lennon joins Inter Milan. {Ed008's Note -

Spurski I delighted to be back and now you can see why I left Fletcher out of the list. Simply he was never even considered, and one of a thousand lies printed in the press.

Zero interest in Sneijder, he make Adebayor's wages look low.

Lamela is a fantastic buy, and a really gifted player. At 21 years old he will take a little longer to adapt to the EPL

Argentina have Higuain, Aguerro,, Palaccio and Lavezzi as attacking option and still Lamela get his game time.

He is naturally a striker and we are trying to force him into a wide channel out and out English winger. Play him alongside Defoe and see what happens.

Clearly the angry anonymous post was another sad face from The Emirates. My advice to him is to keep focussed as Flamini is coming back to save the sinking ship, perhaps Fabregas will also return in another 7 or 8 years time. Fear not Thierry Henry is on standby if you need him at Christmas.

We all know Bale is gone, and if Willian chooses Chelski over Spurs then we never wanted him in the first place. Lamela is our key focus, along with Coentrao and Chirchices. If we can sneak in Eriksen in the middle we will be set for glory. The final laugh will be Podolski signing at the death for buttons, and then during in a hatful for a side that will give him much better support.

Face it Arsenals time passed long ago, and even the miracles of the last three season will not be enough this time round. Premiership will be between Chelsea, Man City and Spurs, with Man United taking 4th and Liverpool 5th. I expect Fulham, Newcastle and Everton will be your main competition. Just try to play clean football and you might get a concession from Uefa through fair play.

Thanks for coming, now go pray Wenger doesn't lose the plot.

Bobbybox you seem like a very grey and depressing person. You have somehow turned the most amazing transfer window into a doom and gloom scenario.

Just to help you get a bloody grip I will remind you of who has already arrived;

Soldado - Scored 3 in 2 and that excludes the 4 he banged past Enfield. The best striker at the since Linekar.

Capoue - if you thought he was second fiddle to Sandro, you might have been forgiven. He is beginning to look like another monster in the middle

Chadli - A terrific little player who cost a mere £7m. Definitely one for the future, and ready to step into the LM position today.

Paulinho - One of the best box to box midfielders in the world, and we secured this first choice Brazilian international under the radar of all the big clubs.

Kaboul - We have the monster back to full fitness and like a new £20m player.

Sandro - Worth £30m of anyone's money, and once again back from injury like a new player in the squad.

Rose - Coming of age and already first choice LB.

Townsend - Flying at Sunderland, and showed AVB why he should be picked ahead of Lennon.

All these players are new addition to the squad. We will generate circa £100m from Bale, and with Lamela, Willian, Eriksen, Coentrao and Chirchices all linked things are hardly bleak.

If Willuan proves to be a mercenary, then be happy we didn't pay £30m for him. Lamela looks very likely, and is the main player we need to replace Bale. Eriksen in my opinion is better than Willian, and available at half the money.

So stop looking for the negatives, as even a fool can see we are much stronger even without Bale.

Harry Redknapp was a Spurs manager, and you would do well to respect him regardless of your own prejudices. He did a fantastic job at Spurs, and I would read all the hype you have read in the newspapers.

His style was built around building teams with his loyal group of players. It was no surprise Parker, Defoe, Crouch and others followed him around. His philosophy for the youth was to loan them until they shine, and only then given then their chance.

I am not a big Redknapp fan to be honest, I would question some decisions and tactics. However, there is very little doubt he played a major part in our recent success.

Thank you Harry for your time at Spurs, I wish others had a lite more respect for you.
