So yet another “target” has apparently came out and said he’d rather move somewhere else, to be honest I think the lad is trouble, dropped from the France squad for World Cup because Deschamps claimed he unsettles the dressing room with attitude and petulant outbursts. That’s the last thing we need when morale is low.

As for targeting a “young” player such as Jack Clarke, no disrespect to the lad but that’s just Levy all over, in desperate need of some quality and experience and he thinks a potential future star will ease the fans frustration. Stop the arsing around and use the Dembele money with a little investment and improve this deteriorating squad.

Why would he go to spurs? Less money, no trophies.

2.) 28 Jan 2019 20:46:33
More competitive league and regular first team football, pretty similar to the Perisic situation, he knows he won’t win anything and probably no champions league either, but maybe he fancies a tilt at the Europa League!

3.) 29 Jan 2019 11:14:06
History shows we do win trophies, history shows Spurs don’t.

4.) 29 Jan 2019 12:59:46
“History” being the keyword there. we are quite a way off from challenging for major honours but your lot are even further behind! Aubameyang, Torreira and Lacazette aside, that whole squad needs improving and as for the back line, probably as poor as any top 6 back line in recent times.

5.) 30 Jan 2019 15:47:49
History is the key word that’s why I put it.

Now that Trippier could miss the start of the Season we really need to find cover for right back. I think Aurier would be a bad move, his attitude seems to be a problem and that's the last thing we need when squad morale is good.

The lad Hysaj from Napoli always looks impressive when I've seen him play, great going forward and pretty strong defensively, think he can play on either side as well so a bit of flexibility. Not sure on his contract status etc but he seems to fly under the radar. Maybe on of the Ed's could shed some light on his situation?

Craigh4510

{Ed001's Note - last I heard Napoli were not open to selling him, they are open to selling the left back Ghoulam though.}

1.) 08 Aug 2017 18:11:28
You're on the ball Ed001, so c'mon who are we looking at?

I was listening to Glen Hoddle on Sunday and he stated spurs are at the cross roads now and can go either way. 3 good quality signings could make us a real threat. Or we could go the other way very quickly. I'm leaning towards the later at the minute.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know right now mate, you got knocked back on the players you tried to sign and I haven't heard who you have switched to. The problem you have been having is that no one wants to come in to be back up and you have a definite first 11. Well they probably would 'grin and bear it' but you pay a lot less than most. They can go to Stoke or Watford, play regularly and earn as much, giving themselves a chance to put themselves in the shop window for a bigger move in the future.

I will ask around now though, as there must be something in the offing, no way can you go through the season with your current squad.}

2.) 08 Aug 2017 19:03:43
Thank you Ed. Would be nice to know who we've turned our attention to now.

I know what your saying. But we have a hell of a lot of games to play. Players do get injured. And Poch will drop players if they ain't performing ask Walker. Although it didn't turn out to bad for him. Ha ha.

{Ed001's Note - yeah, I doubt he is complaining!}

Heard a rumour that spurs are interested in Doumbia from CSKA Moscow, apparently in the last year of his contract and no interest in signing a new one. I have absolutely nothing to back this up but thought I would share it anyway.

I know we had been linked with Emenike and thought maybe a mix up but was told it was definitely Doumbia

So it’s the morning after the night before. and on reflection it’s undoubtedly a case of “what if”, Liverpool were extremely poor last but to a man Spurs just didn’t turn up. Dele was non existent, Eriksen showed once again that he’s not capable of performing in big games, Son hugged and puffed but just wasn’t happening for him and Kane should never have started. The team that was on that pitch at the end in Amsterdam is the team that should have started last night. As heartbreaking as it is for fans and players alike, last night will be the making of some of those players and I for one am extremely proud of our club. Time to regroup and rebuild, get rid of the deadwood and players who don’t want to give everything for the club. Start by investing in quality wing/ full backs because Robertson and Alexander-Arnold are proof of just how important they are to the team. Team is in desperate need of some guile and creativity, I believe that Winks will develop into a top quality player and with Sissoko’s energy and drive alongside him then we need someone who can play that killer pass. Rumours of £53 mil bud rejected for Lo Celso so that indicates the money is definitely there to be spent, so let’s just hope we get the work done early for a change and give the team and any new signing a full pre season together and start preparing for the season ahead and another crack at Europe’s PREMIER competition. sorry couldn’t help but get that in.

Well said, get up, dust ourselves down and come back stronger!
It was a strange game last night, nothing like any from the last couple of seasons. And Liverpool were worthy winners on the night.

2.) 02 Jun 2019 11:37:27
Not too bad this Morning bar the shakes due to marching powder and alcohol, I've become used to spurs letting me down every season and things won't change while levy, Lewis and pochetinho are there, we need a major overhaul and a new manager and new owners would be the start along with many bang average players shown the door, I would even consider selling Kane, Ali and eriksen for 250 million and reinvest it in other top players, look at Liverpool they lost suarez and coutinhou and bought van dijk and mane who have made them even better, mega rich Arabs are looking at buying Newcastle I would welcome them at spurs tomorrow.

3.) 02 Jun 2019 11:40:05
As I said below, it’s up to Levy now.

Do we spend big money upgrading the starting team or do we keep buying prospects. Without spending on some quality and securing Toby we’re going nowhere.

The attacking pace and fluidity of the last 2 seasons has gone missing this season, injures, work load, whatever . but our inability to break down an organized defense has been evident for some time.

Right wing back has to be a priority if Trippier is first choice over KWP and Aurier then all 3 need moving out.

4.) 02 Jun 2019 12:04:32
Bang on yellow card, nevermind eriksen new deal get Toby alderwereld signed up as he's world class and we will suffer without him, lamela, kwp, Davies, aurier, trippier, dier, wanyama, llorente, foyth can all leave this summer as they are not top players and should be playing for sides further down the league table, Ali, Kane, eriksen 250million and they can join them aswell.

5.) 02 Jun 2019 12:40:58
Raver,

I’d hang on to Dele see if he can re-discover his form.

Kane worries me with his repeated ankle ligament injuries, but I’d keep him - need a much higher quality backup though to rotate with him.

Eriksen has proven to me he is not good enough to win the big games, I don’t recall him ever showing up for us when it mattered.

The rest I agree need moving on over the next 2-4 transfer windows, I’m not all that excited about Sessegnon potentially arriving either, don’t see him as an upgrade.

6.) 02 Jun 2019 13:38:03
Yellow Card. I totally agree with what you’ve said above about our RB situation, personally I don’t think you could make a decent RB out of all 3 moulded together. As for investing in youth or quality and experience, I think we need both. Personally I’d go all out to try and get Mazraoui from Ajax. pace, strength and incredible delivery from wide areas and set pieces.

I’ll probably get shot down for this one seeing as he was part of one of the worst sides in PL history but the young lad Karlan Grant who signed for Huddersfield in January looked a prospect, plenty of pace and very direct and doesn’t seem to mind a bit of a tussle.

7.) 02 Jun 2019 14:51:45
Craigh - I’m not against investing in youth and prospects but if we have to not buy some teenage prospects for a couple of transfer windows and put the funds to the acquisition of some seemingly top quality players like Lo Celso and Ndombele then I’m all for it.

13 Jan 2019 18:04:33
Surely Levy can see from looking at the bench today that outside the starting XI our squad is incredibly poor. Absolutely threadbare, no one to turn to or capable of changing a game.

As for Trippier, what is his obsession with cross field passes when a simple 5 yard pass is on, boy frustrates the life out of me!

Craigh4510

1.) 14 Jan 2019 08:44:24
Lamela frustrates me more. Finds space, then stands still screaming for the ball, gets the ball then runs into the tightest space on the field with it, loses the ball then recklessly goes to ground to try and get it back. Yesterday was another prime example of it and it does it time and time again. He has the ability to become such a great player I just think his decision making and reading of the game is so poor.

28 Nov 2017 21:52:40
The slump continues, lack of fight and no plan B. Dele has under performed all season and Eriksen is so inconsistent, is it just a coincidence that since Toby got injured that we are shipping goals left, right and centre. We can point to injuries but every team suffers with injuries, Utd lost Pogba, Liverpool lost Mané and no doubt city and Chelsea will have injury problems as well but they have the squad to deal with it . we don’t! Our bench is still relatively poor, Llorente is average at best. We need to add quality in January if possible, the team seriously lacks pace and creativity.

Craigh4510

1.) 29 Nov 2017 00:10:54
Llorente is worse than average. I daid it the other week he is the worst striker I have ever seen. No first touch and his shooting is attrocious. We played badly again but we had the chances to win.

2.) 29 Nov 2017 22:21:17
Thing is Ellis we aren’t taking those chances while the teams we are playing against are taking the few chances they get. Poch is going to have to consider playing 4 at the back unless he wants to throw Foyth into the starting line up because Dier isn’t good enough at CB. he continually wanders into midfield and then doesn’t have the pace to get back into position.

We miss Wanyama big time. no one else shows that aggression and desire to break up the play.

02 Sep 2014 09:51:18
Oh well think we could be in for a long hard season, the 1position we desperately need to strengthen in is up front and what do we sign, 4 defenders a keeper and a CDM. I think levy goes out his way to make a c*nt of the supporters.

Craigh4510

24 Aug 2014 12:33:32
Poch had a tinker with the side today, Lamela, Ade, Chadli, Bentaleb all starting, Townsend not even on the bench

Much capped Spanish international? He only has 3 full international caps and played a handful of games for the U21's, hardly "much capped" as you put it.

Give the guy a break man! 1st season in a foreign league is always going to be hard, combine that with playing under 3 different managers in 9 months and all with completely different styles of play. Give Soldado a chance to work with Poch and understand how he wants to play and if come May he has still struggled then maybe think about cashing in, in the meantime how about a bit of support and hopefully he gets his confidence back. His goal last night was superb.

Oddbod you’re at it again. missing out important facts! 😂

Spurs approached Real about Ceballos and when it was made clear he was only interested in a loan deal Spurs dropped their interest.

Were you part of the transfer negotiations for Saliba when you are so sure Spurs offered to loan him back? He’s clearly had the same out look as Ceballos, he’s took one look at the Arsenal team and thought I’ll walk into that team whereas he knows he’s only be a squad player at Spurs.

I came on here especially to see that my instincts were right. and wouldn’t you know it, the first post I see is Oddbod spouting off about the Ceballos deal 😂. ok so let’s clear a few things up 1) Ceballos is undoubtedly an excellent young player with huge potential. but he has absolutely ZERO interest in making the move permanent so what is the point? .2) Saliba is similar situation, why pay that amount of money and then loan him straight back. oh wait a minute it’s because it’s a deal in principle, you have loaned him back because you can’t actually afford to buy him just now 😂. structured deal just like the Tierney offer that Celtic laughed out of hand. good luck for the new season Oddbod because by god you’s will need it 😂.
